Purplex welcomes digital marketing apprentices
Thanks to our fantastic partnership with Weston College we have appointed two digital marketing apprentices.
Sam Cherry and Harry Lynn will be working across several departments in Purplex, gaining experience in social media, client services, SEO, PPC (pay-per-click), creative video and design, as well as PR and content.
Sam and Harry are currently studying for a Level Three qualification in marketing at Weston College and will be with us for 18 months. Their addition is also a milestone for our parent company, the Ascot Group, in that it now employs more than 100 people across a range of positions.
Purplex founder and MD Andrew Scott sees the appointment of the apprentices as an achievement both for the company and the wider community.
“I’ve always believed we would build a world-class business in Weston,” he said, “and it’s great to partner with Weston College to shape the future of the region with initiatives like the apprenticeships programme. We have a shared goal to create unrivalled opportunities and real, high-value jobs in a town that has suffered from a lack of employment opportunities.
“It’s a privilege to help Weston College shape the next generation, and I’m excited to see all that Sam and Harry will go onto achieve with our amazing group of marketeers.”
Sam and Harry are delighted to be able to combine the range of opportunities we’re offering at Purplex with studying in Weston and being close to family and friends.
“I’ve always wanted a career in marketing and social media,” Sam said, “and believe that this is the best opportunity for me. It’s a relief to know how supported I am here. Learning about the industry first-hand is invaluable and the best thing I’ve done this year.”
Harry’s previous role was as a contractor working outdoors and at first he was concerned that he may not have the experience required to enter the corporate world.
“Purplex has supported me every step of the way since starting this apprenticeship scheme,” Harry said. “Everyone has been so patient and understanding. Both Andrew and Weston College have created a brilliant course and I’m enjoying each step of the process. To anyone considering an apprenticeship scheme, I’d say go for it. Don’t let lack of knowledge stop you!”
