2023 Glazing Summit Agenda Announced
As event organisers, we’re delighted to announce the jam-packed agenda for this year’s Glazing Summit.
Taking place on Thursday, October 12th at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham, the industry’s leading one-day conference is expected to attract more than 400 business leaders from across the sector, including Yale, Veka, Edgetech, Eurocell, Reynears, Liniar, and many more.
Purplex and Glazing Summit founder and MD, Andrew Scott will be the first to take center stage to welcome everyone to the event and introduce some of our amazing key-note speakers. Five debates and discussions with respected industry leaders will then take place throughout the day on the main stage.
What to expect
The first debate will focus on Insight Data’s ‘State of the Industry’ report. Insight Data has researched over 14,000 fabricators and installers, and in this powerful 20-minute summary Alex Tremlett presents the key trends, analysis, and essential insights that will help delegates better benchmark their own businesses and take advantage of fast-growing opportunities.
For the second debate, we’re bringing together experts to help detail the minefield that is new regulations. New regulations are set to drive even more change across the industry and at a faster pace than ever, from the Future Homes Standard to the new security requirements of Document Q. The seminar is set to unpack all the detail, cut through speculation to get to the real facts, debate the latest Building Regulation updates, and prepare the industry for the enormous changes ahead across new-build, commercial and residential markets
The final debate of the morning is all about the new Building Safety Act that has widespread implications for the construction industry, including the glazing sector. Dan Brown, Strategic Relationship Manager at GQA, will give a no-nonsense overview of the Act and what it means for installers.
The afternoon session kicks off with a discussion on the development of the industry skills crisis. Our panel will share exciting new industry initiatives, discuss how we can attract and train the next generation, and change the perception of our industry. Our expert panel will also tackle the growing skills shortage among senior management in the face of a rapidly changing industry and business climate.
A discussion on sales and marketing will follow soon after in response to the post-pandemic industry lull. After a boom period where volume and order values skyrocketed, the industry has slowed and companies once again need to focus on their brand, reputation and marketing strategy. Industry expert Andrew Scott is set to reveal why previously successful strategies will no longer work, present new ideas that will drive growth, and chair a panel of sales and marketing leaders from across the industry to discuss how the sector will evolve.
Who to expect
We’re also pleased to announce there are two incredible keynote speakers at this year’s event.
Leading London economist Ed Johnstone will bring his expertise to the glazing industry – discussing the economic impact of inflation and interest rates, the cost-of-living crisis, and the housing and property market . Exploring whether we are in for a tough few years, or if the market bounce back as inflation rates come down and General Election looms.
And, Brad Burton, one of the UK’s most sought-after inspirational speakers and a 4x best-selling author, will be inspiring our network of leaders on how they can make life-changing decisions to help shape the future of their businesses. His energy and self-deprecating humour will have delegates inspired and equipped with ideas to take their life and their business to the next level.
The summit will close with a final panel debate that will bring together a panel of business owners to share their challenges in the face of rising costs and a slowdown in the market. They’ll debate pricing, consumer demand, products and suppliers, and ask what impact technology is having – in what promises to be a no-holds barred debate that will stimulate the industry.
