2022 Glazing Summit agenda announced
As event organisers, we’re delighted to announce the jam-packed agenda for this year’s Glazing Summit.
Taking place on Tuesday, October 18 at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham, the industry’s leading one-day conference is expected to attract more than 400 business leaders from across the sector.
For this year’s event, we asked the industry to tell us some of the current issues they’re facing and using this feedback, we have put together a powerful agenda to help tackle them.
Purplex and Glazing Summit founder and MD, Andrew Scott will be the first to take centre stage to discuss the latest ‘State of the Industry’ report. Then five debates and discussions with respected industry leaders will take place throughout the day on the main stage.
The first debate will focus on the supply chain, uncovering whether the industry has recovered lead-times and customer service levels following the fallout of the pandemic – before moving on to discuss the latest challenges caused by the ongoing energy crisis.
For the second debate, conversations will turn to people and skills as we’ll be asking the industry whether they believe enough is being done to encourage women into the sector and challenging existing perceptions of mental health and wellbeing.
The final debate of the morning will look at how legislation is driving change across the industry and what it means for each part of the supply chain as well as how the industry addresses those failing to comply.
The afternoon session kicks off with a discussion on the future of innovation, what this looks like, the latest product innovations and the opportunities which will help the industry to diversify.
The final debate of the day looks at how business owners and company directors will navigate the economic uncertainty, rising costs and new opportunities over the next few years.
We’re also pleased to announce there are two incredible keynote speakers at this year’s event.
William Hobbs, Chief Investment Officer for Barclays Wealth Management & Investments, will share his views on the economic outlook and what the road ahead may look like for UK businesses.
And, legendary retail and customer experience expert Peter Cross, who was director of John Lewis and Waitrose for eight years and business partner of Mary Portas for 10, will share his insights on the future of shopping and how the home improvement industry can become irresistible to its target customers.
