About Caribbean Blinds

Founded in 1987, Caribbean Blinds is a family-run business, specialising exclusively in outdoor shading. Their premium products are found in the gardens and grounds of discerning Brits who want protection not just from sunshine, but also from our unpredictable weather. The company has grown to become the nation’s leading external shading supplier, and their attention to detail and value for money has won the custom of notable celebrities and prestigious estates.

Our Challenge

Influencer marketing has the potential to deliver a large volume of leads cost-effectively, but influencer events are hard to coordinate and it may be difficult to know who is the right fit for your brand. We were tasked with setting up an influencer marketing campaign at Ridgeview Wine Estate – a destination vineyard in the South Downs which has invested in a collection of luxury shading solutions from Caribbean Blinds. By placing the event at a commercial venue, the promotional content would give exposure to both our client and the host site.

Influencers had to be identified – with an audience which matched the demographics of potential Caribbean Blinds customers. They would be required to report on the performance of the campaign in their individual social accounts, which would be fed back to the client. We would also monitor the campaign’s impact on Caribbean Blinds’ website and Instagram account.

Our Solution

Our team researched the market and identified a collection of Instagram influencers with a strong following in the premium home improvements niche. We reached out to them individually and set up the event at the Ridgeview Wine Estate, tailoring the day in a way which maximised the potential for content creation opportunities.

Caribbean Blinds were consulted on the delivery of the event, and turned up to demonstrate their products in action. The influencers were asked to post about their positive perceptions of the shading solution alongside their experience touring the vineyard. An alfresco meal was provided inside the Deluxe Outdoor Living Pod™ for the influencers, and this meal doubled-up as set dressing – showcasing the potential of these products.

The event attracted a lot of attention on social media, driving a huge increase in followers for Caribbean Blinds’ Instagram account – up 50x on its average daily gains. The individual influencers’ posts had a reach of over 135,000 on Instagram alone. But, crucially, this social media awareness also translated into leads, with the website seeing a big spike in traffic, with 3.5x more users visiting on the day of the event compared to an average day that month, and this spike in traffic sustained over several further days.
